Where does a silence end?
The last scene of Rocío, the documentary about which Side A of this story talks about, shows some day laborers, walking backwards, in a pine forest.
If this episode, this Side B, had images, the first scene would be a group of day laborers, walking facing forward, 50 years later, through that same pine forest. Those day laborers would go to meet other day laborers of the red fruit – strawberry, raspberry, blueberry. They would be in that pine forest because they don’t want their bosses to see them. They would be in that pine forest to help each other.
This episode is the story of one of those day laborers, Ana. It is the story of how she faced the silences of the countryside. And how, by confronting those silences, many more silences were uncovered.
