How is a date chosen?
A date may seem like just a number on the calendar. But sometimes it becomes a monument: a monument that is not made of stone, but of time.
This episode talks about how the date June 27 became a symbol, a monument made of time. And, like a monument, it asks who decided to erect it, and when, and why: what memory was chosen to vindicate. And what memories were left out.
Because every public date is also a story that speaks, above all, of the country that chooses it.
About the series
She Had My Name is the story of a woman who inherited the name of her sister, who died two years before she was born, victim of a bomb in a train station. It’s the story of a silence: that of a family that lived in secret the mourning of that girl. A thick, mundane silence into which it seemed impossible to delve.
And it is also the story of the noise that, fifty years later, came to break it. And of what it meant for a whole country.
Se llamaba como yo is the new documentary series by (De eso no se habla), co-produced with EITB and with the support of the Ministry of Culture.
